ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
The Office of Exchange Programmes is responsible for the implementation of exchange programmes at our university.
There are 3 different units within the office:
1) Erasmus+ Exchange Programme Unit
2) Farabi Exchange Programme Unit
3) Mevlana Exchange Programme Unit
As the Mevlana and Farabi Exchange Programmes have been suspended by the Turkish Council of Higher Education, student and staff exchange cannot be carried out within the scope of these programmes.
OUR HISTORY
KTU is one of the first universities in Turkey to participate in the Erasmus+ Exchange Programme. Our university was paired with Ghent University in Belgium as a pilot scheme by the European Commission in the 2003-2004 academic year. Our university has been sending and receiving exchange students within the scope of Erasmus+ Programme for over twenty years.
OUR MISSION AND VISION
KTU Office of Exchange Programmes is responsible and authorized to coordinate the mobilities of the Erasmus+ Key Action 1 which are financed and managed by the European Commission and the Turkish National Agency. Our office manages various types of mobilities within the scope of the Erasmus+ Programme including Student Mobility for Studies, Student Mobility for Traineeships, Staff Mobility for Teaching Assignments, Staff Mobility for Training, Short-Term Doctoral Mobility, Consortium Mobility and KA171 Project Mobility.
Our office aims to increase the number of outgoing and incoming exchange students or staff within the framework of Erasmus+ Programme, to strengthen the international recognition of our university by means of the international events we organize and participate in, to establish new bilateral agreements, to promote the Erasmus+ programme within our university and to provide quality service to the participants of the programme.
AWARDS
ECTS Label - October 2010:
The ECTS Label is given to universities as an award that represents excellence in the implementation of mobility activities within the scope of the Erasmus+ Programme. Our university, which was awarded with this certicitate by the European Commission considering its activities between 2010-2013, became the first university in Turkey to receive the ECTS Label, together with Sakarya University.
Erasmus Quality Certificate - December 2014:
Our university was awarded with the Erasmus Quality Certificate by the Turkish National Agency, for the outstanding implementation of Erasmus Student Mobility for Studies in the 2012-2013 academic year, along with Bogazici University, Istanbul Technical University, Marmara University and Akdeniz University.
